Report

Report:If i added this up right, it finished 134points-143points!
An epic battle with lots of happy faces having played their first competitive game.
Alex V Molly
Young Alex, only 6 put in a fantastic performance against an older opponent in Molly. Some great running from Alex as he ran around or through Molly's legs in desperation to get the ball. A real good fight from both resulting in a 3-1 victory to PL3.
Max V Henry
This had some of the tightest games i have seen in 20 years of squash. With both fighting for every point, it was Max who came out on top with some good attacking play and good tactical play as he moved Henry around a lot and played powerful shots to the corners, 2-0 PL3 and looking good.
Ben V Joe
The wheels started coming off the PL train from here, Ben a good player with lots of smart shots had a hard match against Joe, who, also in his first game, an older boy, with a big right arm and powerful serve. Ben fought well against a player with far more strength than him, nearly stealing the 2nd and 3rd from under Joe's nose. But unfortunately in the tie break, Joe did just enough to sneak them both.
Harry V Anna
Harry, again playing his first match, had a hard first 2 games against a far more experienced county standard player in Anna. Harry struggled to deal with Anna's strong serve in the first two, with Anna winning both easily. The cue a fightback, as Harry started asking questions of Anna with some nice drop shots and good lengths. He snuk the 3rd and went back in the fourth more determined than ever. Anna really nuckeled down in this game, and making far less mistakes ran out 11-6 winner in the final game. Harry made us all proud with his fight having lost the first two easily.
So an unlucky first match running out runners up on this occasion. But with an 11 year old being the experienced player in this team, a bright futureis certain for PL3.
A proud coach stood off court smiling as he watched his youngsters battle this one out. Many more to come...
