Report

Report:A great performance from the guys today as Tonbridge Wells 2 visited the Parklangley fortress.
First up
Ben Kell Vs Thomas Ballard
This was a match that saw some great rallies finished off with some fantastic winners. Ben won the first in quick fashion and maybe lost concentration as Thomas put in some consistent serves and took the second. From there Ben found a good rhythm with good deep serves and deftly executed drop shots, especially on his backhand. With Ben in good spirits he wrapped up the 4th 11/1 again playing some great drops to win the match 3-1.
Max Vs Will
In the knock up, it was clear we had some good future players on court.
The game set off at a good pace with both players covering the court well and finding the corners at the back, Max edging out a close first 11/8. The second saw much of the same quality, long rallies usually finished off with winners rather than mistakes. Will fought back in the 3rd, his good serves proving difficult for Max, but still a nail biter, Will fought off match point to take the game 14-12. Max, having had a pep talk from Dad and coach went on in the 4th like a boy possessed. He came out firing in good serves that instantly put Will under pressure and moving him front to back rally after rally. Will wasn't going to give up though, but Max's power and control gave him the edge and he ran out an 11-2 winner.
Alex Vs Christian
Two 7 year olds took center stage for the number 4's and had a nice game. Christian had a lovely technique and hit the ball well, but Alex's all action performance, including dives, drops drives and volleys was too much for Christian and he ran out 3-0 winner in quick time.
Number 1's up last!
Harry Vs Jemima
Harry looked like the terminator with a steely eyed performance here against a very good young player in Jemima.
Harry is quickly becoming a tactical genius, he exploited the court very well. Despite this jemima covered the court well and hit some lovely shots. She anticipated the game very well and was unlucky on a number of occasions to not finish off early anticipated volleys. Harry took the first 11-7 and the rest of the match followed suit with similar scores for the rest of the match.
A great win for PL today in this postponed match, moving up the league and hoping for promotion next season.
